I was so delighted and honored to be a part of the J. Banks Design renovation project recently completed at the Park Lane Hotel and Suites on Hilton Head Island. Designer Jenny Ladutko selected four images from my portfolio that were local to the area and I created one specifically to hang in the common seating area outside the grand ballroom. Jenny wanted something local, timeless, top-quality, but was also working with a very specific color pallet and budget. Many of my images can be tailored to suit whatever custom projects you have. The image directly below is an example of how I manipulated the color pallet in order to coordinate with the subtle coastal tones in the space. It is just one the many ways in which I can create something beautiful, sophisticated, and unique that sets projects apart from the rest, all while staying on budget. Whether it’s simply working with color tones or printing on different materials such as fine art paper, wood, metal, canvas, silk, or even leather...

I've recently been enjoying creating timeless, classic black and white heirloom portraits with studio lighting and a seamless white backdrop. The outcome is stunning. These portraits are absolutely breathtaking printed on Fine Art paper and will truly be cherished for years. If you have trouble deciding on one pose, the good news is you don't have to! I can create composite prints with 2, 3, 4, 5, and even 6 poses. I'll be returning to the upstate this spring and summer for heirloom sessions in Greenwood and Greenville so be sure to follow me on Facebook to stay posted. I will also be offering a Lowcountry session as well. Contact me today for more info!!

Unless you live in the Lowcountry, it’s hard to really grasp how amazing it is to see snow here. Lowcountry snow is pretty much an oxymoron. Since moving to Bluffton from the Upstate, I have missed the yearly experience, which made me all that much more appreciative of it.  After about 2 inches of accumulation, my husband, Jay, and I bundled up Eve, our 15 month old baby girl, stuffed her in her new Radio Flyer wagon her grandparents gave her for Christmas, and proceeded to introduce her to the snow. For about 3 minutes she had a look of confused curiosity which quickly turned into dislike and then utter hatred of the cold, icy snow. She is a true southern diva, that’s for sure! Lucky for her, it will likely be another 15 years before she has to endure the horror again. After a brief break to warm up by the fire, the three of us piled in Jay’s truck to see the glistening low country. It was breathtaking. These are just a few of the images from that day. Enjoy!

If you like what you see...

As I'm sure my loyal and dedicated fan base has noticed, I haven’t written a blog in quite some time. Although, if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you will totally understand because I have the best excuse! A tiny little person named Eve entered this world during Hurricane Matthew and she's been calling the shots ever since. She is beautiful, sweet, funny, the light of my life, and a HANDFUL! My little blessing just turned one year old and it has been a wild ride.  As many of you can attest to, there is no way to prepare for the sleep deprivation that a new parent experiences that first year but I can honestly say, it was and is worth every sleepless night. The good news is I can finally celebrate the fact that she is now consistently sleeping through the night and I can function, once again, like a real human being. My photography is back in full swing and I have been thoroughly enjoying creating portraits again. If you don't already, make sure to follow me on Instagram to see...

If you don't already know, my husband and I are expecting our first child in October and it can't come soon enough. We are over the moon excited and can't wait to share photos or our baby girl after she makes her debut. Last weekend my wonderful DNR girls showered me and Baby Eve with all sorts of goodies in downtown Beaufort and I can't thank them enough. It was so good to see them and great to be back downtown too!

After the shower I was able to swing by the Visitor's Center and finally obtain a few copies of the Visitor's Guide with MY image on the cover! I am so excited to have been chosen for this. If you are in the area be sure to grab a copy for yourself. Inside you will find all sorts of helpful info including the local scoop on the best shopping spots, activity options, and fabulous restaurants!

In addition to the cover image, I have also been working on a pretty extensive project for Beaufort. Over the past year, I have created the imagery for the list of 50 Things to Do in B...

I had the best time with these two! Stephen Shepherd and his lovely fiance, Kristen McLamb, were naturals in front of the camera. That, coupled with the perfect weather and beautiful environment, made for a session that could not have been better. Kiawah Island is such a beautiful location with plenty of places to explore. Spring in the lowcountry is gorgeous so now is the time to schedule your own engagement session or family portraits that are long overdue. Call me today to get on my spring calendar!

I love seeing my fine art prints on the walls anywhere but especially here at the doctor's office in Greenwood. Helping create a soothing and relaxing environment with artwork that patients can relate to and identify with is extremely rewarding. Enjoy these photos and let me know if your office walls could use a fresh, new look too!

This was such a great idea by the wonderful Jennifer Smith at the Arts Center of Greenwood (120 Main Street). How fun! It was open to anyone and everyone and you could submit however many images you wanted. There were 288 images selected for the show by 55 different artists. Although I don't live in Greenwood anymore, it still feels like home to me. And this show was such a fun way for the whole community to get together and participate.  I love that Oliver, my trusty sidekick and local Greenwood celebrity, made the invitation. The show will be up through November 7th so Greenwood peeps, if you weren't able to make it to the opening reception you should definitely swing by and check it out.

There is just something about the crisp fall air that feels like coming home. Living on the coast is amazing but love it when I get a chance to go back and visit the upstate. In honor of National Farmers Day (which I didn’t know about but was just informed of its existence via Facebook), I have decided to share some outtakes from my weekend. My in-laws happen to have a little slice of paradise in a little town called Ninety-Six right outside of Greenwood, South Carolina. I was traveling to Greenwood to watch “the house” for jon holloway during a wedding reception at his beautiful Sundance Gallery and got to stay at the farm. I had fun playing around with my camera and the farm life. These images remind me of one of the most rewarding photography projects I have ever worked on. It was with jon creating images from the rural areas in Laurens county to outfit a nursing home there. The images we created really stuck a cord with the residents and meant more to them than I ever anticipated....

As I made my way to Charleston yesterday, on the very day they laid Senator Pinckney to rest, I didn’t know what to expect. I just knew I wanted to be there and pay my respects to those nine souls that tragically lost their lives at Bible study just a few weeks ago. I can honestly say that this story has had a huge impact on me personally. I do believe that “all things work together for good for those that love the Lord” and nothing could be a better example of this than what has happened in Charleston since that horrible night. As I made my way down the street to the Mother Emanuel AME church, I was awestruck by the overwhelming sense of community and love that everyone seemed to have for one another. It is hard to put into words. I have never experienced anything like it and doubt I ever will again. I can’t help but feel thankful…thankful to God for turning such evil into something good, thankful to all my fellow South Carolinians for their outpouring of love, and thankful that I cal...
